polishing their Excaliburs in anticipation of  the  judging  for  the  Concours D'Elegance. Unfortunately, this year their job was made harder by a muddy infield at State Fair Park Raceway, where the Excalibur  compound  was located. Again this year, a tour  of the pits gave everyone an  opportunity  to see the Indy-type race cars up close and also a rare  chance  to  talk  with some of

the greats in auto racing. The Series IV was the official pace car for the Tony Bettenhausen Classic and was also used to drive Johnny Rutherford, the winner of the 200 mile race, around the track for his victory lap.
A picnic lunch was served all day long with enough brats, corn-on-the- cob   and   beer   to   satisfy    even    the

hungriest of guests.
The weekend came to a fitting close when Dave and Steve awarded the trophies to the winners of the Concours D'Elegance late Sunday afternoon and invited everyone to return next year for an even bigger and better 9th Annual Owners' Meet. Mark your calendars for 1981 August 15th and 16th.
