The last three months have been filled with exciting events for Excalibur. In January, the Series IV Roadster was introduced at the Greater New York Automobile Show. Its romantic design and rakish rumble seat have captured the hearts of many ... in fact, it is sold out for 1981. The Roadster will be a limited edition automobile, with production of only 36 in 1981.
On a sad note, Jimmy Morgan, driver of the USA #1 fourman bobsled, and a very special friend of Excalibur, was tragically killed in Cortina, Italy, in a freak bobsledding accident on the final day of competition for the World Cup. Jimmy was a great help to Excalibur in our development of the experimental Excalibur bobsled. His able assistance and constant encouragement will long be remembered. In March of 1980, Jimmy drove the Excalibur sled from the mile start at Mt. Van Hoevenberg and showed some of the best times ever recorded by the sled during its test stages. We at Excalibur will always be proud to call Jimmy Morgan our friend and will long remember his dedication to and love of bobsledding and his con- tributions to the sport. (The Excalibur bobsled had to take a back seat to the final development of the Roadster in 1981; therefore, the sled has not been run at all in 1981, but we look forward to further testing next winter.)
Included in this issue are the particulars for the Second Annual Reno Rally, June 26-28. A weekend to remember is promised by Dan Brush, President of Excalibur West, with everything from gambling in some of the world's finest casinos to an evening at one of the most exciting rodeos in the West, and to top that, a boat tour of Lake Tahoe on the paddlewheeler, M. S. Dixie.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have been so generous with your con- tributions to this publication. When the idea was presented to me, I felt this newsletter would be a wonderful means of establishing communication with and among Excalibur owners. Many times a deadline is facing me, and I have to hunt for one more story to fill up a page. It is for this reason, I am appealing to you to please send me any information about yourselves that you think would be of interest to other Excalibur owners. Each one of you has a very special story to tell. To those of you who have been holding back . . . don't be bashful, send me everything. You have no idea how interesting and informative other owners find stories about you and your automobiles.
As you read this issue you will notice a new feature
Top "Calibur", which includes a review of a restaurant, resort or nightclub and a recipe, when appropriate. The thing that is unique about this column is that only Excalibur owners, past and present, will have their establishments featured. My hope is that, as you travel throughout this wonderful country of ours, you will stop in and visit these spots and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow Excalibur aficionados.
For all of you interested in planning your summer vacations, the Reno Rally and Excalibur Owners Meet are now scheduled, so be sure to mark your calendars. (See F.Y.I, for dates.)
Be sure to visit the Excalibur exhibits whenever they are in your locale. We always enjoy seeing Excalibur owners and having the opportunity to put faces and serial numbers together.
