EXCALIBER  HAS  LONG  AND  INTERESTING  HISTORY

The Excalibur Automobile Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has a long and interesting history. The Excalibur is a contemporary classic designed by Brooks Stevens, and the corporation producing his original design is owned and operated by his two sons -- David and William.

The Excalibur was designed originally as a sports racing car. In 1958 the Excalibur won the Sports Car Club of America national championship in Class B. The Excalibur was retired from racing in 1964 and re-designed as a contemporary classic -- a replica of the 1927-1938 Mercedes-Benz SS and SSK.

The background of the man who originally designed the Excalibur is no less fascinating than the Excalibur itself. Brooks Stevens currently directs an industrial designing firm which recently ranked fifth on "Fortune's" roll of leading industrial design firms.

Mr. Stevens list of accomplishments in designing reads like a "Who's Who in America". Among his numerous "firsts" in industrial design are: first electric clothes dryer; first refrigerator to break away from "traditional" white color; first civilian adaption of the Army jeep.

From the information gathered about the Excalibur Automobile Corporation (please see "Manufacturer's Memos"), it certainly appears that David and William (Steve) Stevens are doing an admirable job of expanding and carrying on the proud Excalibur tradition.

Since the Excalibur Automobile Corporation has just completed the biggest year in its history (and this year promises to be even bigger), some statistics on past production should be interesting and "valuable". A break-down of Excaliburs built shows they run as follows:
