"Urgent Enquiry for Technical Information On Excalibur Limited Edition 100 problems have been encountered with gas tank.
Leakage due to porosity of gas tank material occurred.
Owners are now looking for information about LE100, as e.g.
Dwgs, pictures narratives of gas tank installation/suspension, fuel piping, electrical wiring.
As Camelot Classic Cars Inc. is not involved in LE100, owners are seeking former employees of Excalibur Automobile Corporation who have been involved in design, construction or manufacturing the Excalibur Limited Edition 100 and therefore could provide adequate information in order to solve this problem.

I then will translate msgs and pass them onto the LE100 owners.

Alice had a good idea. This is her message :

"This is a survey to see how many would be interested in attending a 40^th Anniversary celebration for the Excalibur Automobile. (Conceived in June of 1963) It would coincide with Brooks Stevens’ 92^nd birthday (6-7-2003) as well as the opening of the Brooks Stevens Exhibit at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Would there be an interest in a reunion of Excalibur owners, employees, dealers and admirers?

Due to the fact that the company used to sponsor those events and is no longer in business, there would be a fee involved. If there is enough interest for an event we hope to offer a reunion with old owners and the employees that built your car.

We would need to have confirmation by the end of January of 2003 and deposits by the end of February 2003.

        In last July, I made a pilgrimage. Where ? ! At Milwaukee, of course, cradle of Excalibur (and also of Harley Davidson).

During that trip, I met two important people: one person who worked with Brooks Stevens during several years, Alice Preston, and the curator of the Brooks Stevens Exhibition that takes place next year during the summer at the Milwaukee Art Museum, Glenn Adamson.

        During several hours, I had the opportunity to talk with Alice, you should already know her if you looked for parts. I spent with her a great moment. She's a great and friendly person and has lot of souvenirs and anecdote on Brooks and Excaliburs. She owns an incredible number of documents, pictures, ... She agreed to lend some items of her tresor for publishing (that's what I'm doing but that takes time).

Alice, thanks again for that great day, for your welcome and your help!

I also met Glenn who, as I said, is the curator for the Brooks Stevens exhibition that will take place from the June 6th 2003 to September 6th 2003 at the Milwaukee Art Museum. During our visit of the museum, showing me some objects designed by Brooks as a designer  (refrigerator, boat engine, iron, bicycle,  ...), I will add a special rubric on Brooks,   we had the idea to organize an Excalibur meeting during the exhibition. What a great opportunity to have a collection of Excalibur during a exhibition dedicated to the creator of Excalibur ! When ? Nothing is defined yet, but July or August could be great. As soon as the date will be defined, I'll keep you informed. I hope to have lot of cars and people. With or without your car, please come to participate to that meeting, visit the exhibition, have a diner and why not have a trip along the lake. The objective is to gather the maximum of Excaliburs and park the cars in front of the museum for a special event. If you are interested, please tell me. More we will be,  more we will have the chance to organize that Excalibur event.

Today, It's a special day. Yes, the web site ExcaliburAutomobile.com is

            1 year old.

Since its creation, the site received more than 20.000 visits. That shows the existing craze for that mark unfortunately disappeared today but also how the happy owners try to do their

best for the sake of  "Keeping the legend alive and the famous cars on the road" (Otto)
 

Some of you asked me why I created that web site.

When I became an Excalibur owner in 99 (the on on the right and top), I started to search on the web information, parts and how to contact other owners.

But what disillusion! Nothing! No web site dedicated to Excalibur.

For that raisons I decided to create that site, for everybody who loves Excalibur.

I received several emails encouraging me and thanking me for spending time and money

"I enjoy your web site, and all the information on it. Thanks for the time it must take you to keep it up to date." (Tracy)

So I would like to thank all of you for your emails.

As you know I try to do my best to update the site but it's not always easy. So I want to thank all of you (Luc, Ferraroli, Patrice, Alice, Otto, Dock, ...) who help me by sending documents, pictures, ... and also to spend some of their time for the site. A special thank to Otto who translate the site in German (We will add soon a section in German language) 

I have a request:

             If you have documents that are not publish on the site, please send me a copy for publishing.

          Also, if you are an Excalibur owner, please send me a picture of your car.

One more time, a big thank to all of you who share the same passion and who keep the site alive.

Last point, I apologize if my English is not perfect but English language is not my mother tongue.

For information, more than 17 Excaliburs will participate to the Excalibur trip in Alsace (France) organized by the Club of Switzerland.

Pictures will be publish by end of June.

At the end of August (August 30th to September 1st) , the Excalibur Club of Germany organizes a meeting in Kempen (near by Dusseldorf).

    If you would like to receive it, nothing less simple, you send me your email address and let me know if you prefer the english or french version.

    Other request, Alice Preston (http://www.excaliburclassics.com), who could provide you any Excalibur parts, will try to get some Excalibur scripts made (the Excalibur logo in front of any excalibur car on the radiator grid) . Before that, she needs to know how many people could be interested by a new script (price $85). If you are, please send me a email.

During that last three months, some documents, unusual objects have been added. A new heading will be add soon : "Classified adds" for everybody who wants to sell something: cars (of course), documents, sales catalog, ...every things about Excalibur. Feel free to use it, it's free.

But the end of this year is coming and Christmas knock at our door. That why I decided to make a "present" to the Excalibur addicts. A video  I found on  "The Auto Channel". (Thanks to them). 15mn on Excalibur. To watch it, just click on "The symbol of success"

After a little more that three months, you were numerous to consult the site.

As soon as I find a document, object or photograph referring to the Excalibur mark, I try to acquire it to publish it. Some times, one sends documents to me, like Patrice and Bill, which makes it possible to fill out the site. But alone, it is not easy then I call  your assistance. If you have anything referring to the mark, please, send it to me, by mail or email so that I can publish it.

Recently I introduced a new heading on the saga Excalibur. You will find there several publications very interesting on the various models of the mark.

A heading "messages" was also added, so, if you have questions, information or remarqs to share, go on !.

Sine we have bought in December 1999 an Excalibur Phaeton III, my wife and myself have fallen in love with our car.

As any enthusiast, we try to share our  infatuation for that brand  unfortunately  today disappeared.

We searched for Excalibur clubs in France or Europe without success. Therefore, we decided to create a club or association that regroups  the excalibur owners eager to share their passion, information or advices.
